Dr. Marandola received his bachelor’s
degree summa cum laude from Boston University. He earned
his
medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine
where he received honors and was sole recipient of his
class' Anatomy Award. He completed a surgical internship
and an orthopedic surgery residency at University of California
Irvine Medical Center in 1992. During his residency, Dr.
Marandola
earned two research awards, served as chairman of an international
orthopedic meeting and received sports medicine training
at
Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic Los Angeles.
Dr. Marandola is a board-certified orthopedic
surgeon who sub specializes in sports medicine and complex
arthroscopic hip, knee and shoulder reconstruction. He also
has expertise in joint replacement, trauma and fracture care,
and general orthopedics.
Dr. Marandola
is active in medical staff leadership and has served as Chairman
of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Mission
Hospital
Regional Medical Center, and on the Executive Board of the
Orange County Chapter of the Western Orthopaedic Association.
Dr. Marandola maintains active community
involvement in sports medicine by volunteering his time as
team physician/orthopedist for local high schools and for
Saddleback Valley Christian Schools in San Juan Capistrano.
In his spare time, Dr. Marandola enjoys
spending time with his wife and four children, playing
trumpet, exercising and golfing.
