Dr. Thomas received his undergraduate
degree from UCLA and his medical degree from UCLA School of
Medicine, where he graduated with honors. His surgical internship
and orthopedic residency were completed at UCLA Medical Center
in 1992. Dr. Thomas additionally completed a one-year fellowship
in sports medicine and arthroscopy with an emphasis on complex
problems of the knee and shoulder.
Dr. Thomas is board certified in orthopedic
surgery and specializes in the treatment of shoulder, knee and hip
problems. He also specializes in joint replacement surgery of the knee, hip and shoulder.
Dr. Thomas is actively involved in educating
other orthopedic surgeons in the state-of-the-art arthroscopic
procedures of the knee and shoulder. Through his involvement
with the Arthroscopy Association of North America, he has
instructed numerous orthopedic surgeons from the United States
and abroad at the Orthopedic Learning Center in Chicago. He
has also been involved with both national and local conferences
as a faculty instructor.
Dr. Thomas is active in sports medicine
at the community level having acted as the team physician
for several local high schools.
He has been active in medical staff
leadership and has served as Chairman of the Department of
Orthopedic Surgery at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.
In his free time Dr. Thomas enjoys exercising, traveling and
spending time with his family.
